At SUGCON Europe in Dublin, Ireland, I presented on "Achieving Behavioral Personalization with XM Cloud Plus". This session demonstrated my successful integration of XP Pattern/Profile card implementation into XM Cloud + Personalize. I also explored an alternative approach using XM Cloud, Personalize, and Sitecore Search. This method, in contrast to the traditional pattern and profile cards strategy, requires less initial investment in user analysis, making it a more accessible starting point for personalization.
In my presentation, I also discussed user segmentation using the SUGCON NA website as an example. I identified potential user groups such as "Business Professional" and "Learning" enthusiasts, and created common attributes for these segments. The key was to score these attributes differently for each user. For instance, a "Business Professional" might score higher on "Networking" than a student new to the industry. The final step was to apply these scores to the site's pages, creating a personalized user experience.
